Receiving mail is fun again!

Today we received our first RSVP for our upcoming wedding! Actually, it was two: One “yes” and one “no.” It was slightly exhilarating opening each sealed envelope, the suspense building before I discover who is attending and what they would like to eat.

“Your cousin Courtney is attending and will be having the vegetarian option.”
(If only the RSVPs actually read this way).

“Yes! I knew she’d pick that!”

Wedding planning has become a lot easier since the invitations went out last week. Having designed the invites myself, I spent a lot of time tweaking the “final” product. I work in a graphic design-centered job and yet I was completely stumped as to how I could accurately depict the entire “theme” of our wedding in two, half sheets of paper. The pressure was huge to live up to my own, picky expectations. It’s quite the relief to have them completed and I’m fully satisfied with the results.

Of course, you can never satisfy everyone. Jerry’s (my fiancé) elderly mother made sure to list several flaws. One being, “I had to get out my magnifying glass to read it.”

And…

“I’m a little disappointed in how late the reception is.”

Old people…
